Augustana VikeSing Choral Festival

A brief and exciting opportunity to motivate the male singers in your choirs as they learn from Augustana University faculty conductors and sing with vocalists from all over the region.

Here are a few details about the festival:

When: Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2019, 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. (Check in from 12:15-12:45 p.m.)

Location: Fryxell Humanities Center (newly renovated!), Augustana University, Sioux Falls, South Dakota

The festival is open to all male students in grades 6-12 who are members of one of their school choirs. No advance preparation is necessary!

Schools may bring an unlimited number of singers, and, other than the expense of providing scores for your singers, the cost is only $75 per school.

There will be two festival choirs:

Grades 6-8 — unchanged, changing, and changed voices. Directed by Dr. Russell Svenningsen, conductor of The Augustana University Chorale

Grades 9-12 — Directed by Dr. Paul Nesheim, Augustana University director of choral activities and conductor of The Augustana Choir

The ensembles will rehearse separately and then come together at the end of the afternoon for brief performances by both festival choirs and by The Augustana Choir.
